DPS FINGERPRINTING NOTICE EFFECTIVE MARCH 1, 2011
L-1 Electronic Fingerprinting ONLY
1) Complete your class, submit your paperwork to DPS then you'll get notice from DPS to schedule your fingerprints with your local L-1 Office
OR
2) Do an online application and DPS will generate a form for you to schedule your fingerprinting with your local L-1 Office
See below
Before a CHL applicant can schedule an appointment with L1, TXDPS must be in receipt of the paper CHL application or an online application must have been submitted . Applicants who choose to submit a paper application must wait to schedule their L1 appointment after the application has been processed through the mail and they have received confirmation the application has been entered into the CHL database. To reduce processing time, TXDPS encourages all applicants to utilize the secure online application.
CHL applicants may schedule an appointment with the state approved electronic fingerprint collection agency, L1 Identity Solutions (L1). Electronic fingerprints provide a higher quality print; resulting in fewer fingerprint rejections. Fingerprint locations are available across the state of Texas with various hours including some services on Saturdays. Applicants have the option to select the location, date and time.
Schedule fingerprint appointment* – go to www.L1id.com to schedule an appointment at a convenient time and location. Alternatively, applicants may call L1 directly to make an appointment at 1-888-467-2080.
Payment – The fingerprint processing fee is $9.95 and is payable to L1. Electronic fingerprint services may be paid for online with a credit card. If paying at the L1 site, payment must be made by check or money order.
